On the subject of death, ever cheery, I was pretty healthy in my eating today. No ice cream just Green Juice and salad. In the meeting some women were talking about food and one was saying that she thought that an apple that was not organic was not worth eating because of the pesticide. The other was agreeing talking about the dangers of the sun and how important it was to avoid it as best you can (fairly impossible here.) The thing was that she had about 2 litres of saline in her chest and probably some sort of webbing in her lips and it just fascinated me that people (myself included) can be so selective about what we accept as dangerous. I have sunbathed most days since I got here. As far as I am concerned in Miami its dangerous not to have a tan because a pale person would fry just nipping out for a Starbucks.

Waiting For You
I am waiting in for Fed X to deliver a package from Gregory in Los Angeles. I feel nervous based on waiting experiences in the UK. I should not project the British idea of service onto efficient US companies. I am meditating on peace, love and receiving of gifts given.

Indulgence
For dinner I had peanut butter and chocolate shake and cheese fries. I can safely say the South Beach Diet was a huge fail today. Who cares?

Realism
I went deep into the ocean with Ryan on Independence Day. Not deep but pretty far out from the shore. Its very beautiful as the waves are higher than your head as they approach. Its all very blue. I said that I was a little nervous about being the nearest body to the sharks. He gallantly stood a metre ahead of me.
'Now they will get me instead'
I asked if he would mind making a small incision in his leg to be on the safe side.
He told me that sharks are more likely to be in the bay which is just a mile up the coast by South Point because there is more food there. He said that they feed at dawn and at dusk. I asked if he would stand where we were standing at dawn.
'Absolutley not, NO'

Temptor
Richard is a bad influence. Today I already had eggs on toast ( and I have a wheat allergy) and a Quesadilla (more wheat, cheese, avocado and black beans) Carbicide. I am screwed. I have 3 days to detox after he is gone.

Let me put my arms around your head
I stayed home most of the afternoon, listening to Aladin Sane, meditating (not my strong point) and reading books. I remember lying in a bath that I made red with my own blood listening to Lady Grinning Soul when I was about 16 years old. I remember my mother not being able to cope, I remember not doing too well myself! I didn't listen to the album for about 20 years, I was afraid of it, as if the sound of the songs could flush me back into madness (or at least a more aggresive manifestation) like running water can flush a spider down a drain.

Is this just fantasy?
Perhaps American Airlines did have a point when they cancelled all flights. A pretty intense electrical storm is taking place at the moment. Lots of thunder and lightening (Bohemian Rhapsody).I went out on the balcony to take a picture and saw rats running across the power cables. It's a little creepy but not to worry I am only here for another 15 days...........
The lights are on .......
Richard has this bug thing plugged in the wall. Mostly it flashes, a moment ago the red light went off. I unplugged it and put it back in and now both the red and green are on but not flashing. I like it when it flashes, I like to think it is doing its job. This woman in the meeting was talking about a power outage during Catrina (she was actually talking about a dog biting her face because she was drunk and she grabbed it) but it has got me thinking about the dire consequences of a storm induced power failure on my trip. I am very focused on this bug thing I am not happy that it is not flashing but I realise that in the event of a power failure things could get a lot worse.
Things I love about South Beach
Publix Supermarket. I go pretty much every morning to pick up food for the day. I don't actually eat much while I am here which is one of the reasons I come but I do eat fruit, avocados and drink coffee and grapefruit juice. I got orange juice for Richard. Orange juice bothers me as it is full of sugar. I was once looking on line on a diet site and they had this graph that showed the opitum foods for weight loss. They mentioned orange juice as being a really bad food as it takes you out of the 'fat burning zone'. Now if I take a sip of orange juice I have this voice in my head that says ' YOU ARE NOW LEAVING THE FAT BURNING ZONE' like some sci-fi movie scenario.
